2008 Evergreen Annual Building Bridges
Campaign
We Love to Tell the Story!
The Evergreen Story is an amazing story of courage,
vision and faith. It is a unique story; it is an
inspiring story of risk, relationship, and deep
faith. It is the story of God’s amazing grace,
Christ’s sanctifying love and the transforming power
of the Holy Spirit! Most of all, it is a story that
continues to unfold everyday in marvelous ways
through our ministries and missions. There would be
no story to tell without the financial contribution
of Evergreen’s member churches and friends. We are
truly blessed! Here are some of the ministries and
accomplishments your generous financial support made
possible last year.
Already in 2008 we have had a wonderful Martin Luther
King, Jr. worship with Rev. Marilyn Turner, Associate
Director of ABC National Ministries, preaching.
Evergreen TEAM, Executive Committee and Caucus
Leaders had a retreat with Eric Law which resulted in
planning for telling our stories in new ways and
working to especially assist at least three local
churches in their ministry and mission in 2008. We
are planning to raise at least $5,000 this year for
Tent Cities with a musical in November. Our caucuses
are working to ensure Evergreen youth attend the ABC
Youth Gathering in Estes Park CO this summer. We have
four people well on their way to earning
certification as Kaleidoscope Institute
cross-cultural trainers with others in the Northwest
ecumenical community.
Of Evergreen’s $235,600 budget, $45,000 must be
raised by individual gifts. We need the help of
Evergreen members, friends and supporters to reach
that goal so our ministry can thrive.
What a story indeed, and the good news continues to
unfold! Your generous support will help make the
Evergreen story a never-ending story of faithful
service to the people of God.
And when I sing in Glory, I know the new, new song
will be the old, old story that I have loved so
long.
